Squish terms of use
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These are the terms for using Squish: the app, the website at squish.online, and Squish Plus. They are written to be read. Where the law gives you rights, nothing here takes them away.
The short version
- Squish is a food diary with AI help. Its figures are estimates, not measurements, and it is not medical advice.
- Never rely on Squish to keep you safe from an allergy. Check labels and ingredients yourself, every time.
- It is for adults: you must be 18 or over.
- Most of Squish is free. Squish Plus is a subscription, bought through the App Store or Google Play and cancelled there.
- Your diary is yours. How we look after it is in the privacy policy.
- Be kind in squads, and do not try to break or misuse the app.
Who we are, and these terms
Squish is run by Industry Logic Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08236014), registered office 38a Bowes Street, Blyth, Northumberland, NE24 1BE, United Kingdom. "We" and "us" mean us; "you" means the person using Squish.
By using Squish you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Our privacy policy is separate and explains what we do with your data; it is not something you agree to, it is what we promise.
Who can use Squish
- You must be 18 or over. Squish shows calorie figures and diet feedback, and that is not something to put in front of children. Setting up asks your age and stops for anyone under 18.
- One person, one account. An account is for you alone. Do not share it, sell it, or make accounts to get more than one free taste or more than one reward.
- Tell the truth about yourself where Squish asks — your age, height, weight and so on. Your targets are worked out from them, and wrong figures give wrong targets.
What Squish is — and what it is not
Squish estimates what is in your food from photos, descriptions, barcodes, recipes and food composition tables, and suggests daily targets and meal plans from the details you give it.
Estimates, not measurements. A photo cannot be weighed. The AI can misjudge a portion, miss a hidden ingredient, or misread a label, and food tables and barcode databases contain mistakes. Squish shows where a figure came from and lets you correct it; please do.
Not medical advice. Squish, its nutritionist and its meal plans give general information about food. They do not diagnose, treat or manage any medical condition, and they are not a substitute for a doctor, a registered dietitian or other health professional. Speak to one before changing how you eat if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, kidney disease, an eating disorder or any other condition affected by diet, or take medication that is.
Allergies and intolerances. You can tell Squish about allergies and foods you never eat, and it will try to leave them out of what it suggests. It can still get this wrong: a meal plan, a recipe or a food's details may contain an allergen it did not recognise. Always check labels and ingredients yourself. Do not use Squish to decide whether a food is safe for someone with an allergy.
Targets have a floor. Squish will not suggest eating less than 1,200 kcal a day (1,500 for men), or aim for a weight below a healthy range for your height. If you override a target yourself, that is your choice and your responsibility.
If food is becoming hard. If eating, weight or your body is causing you distress, please talk to someone. In the UK, Beat (the eating disorder charity) is on 0808 801 0677 and at beateatingdisorders.org.uk. Squish is an app, not the right kind of help.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away at support@squish.online if you think somebody else has used your account.
- You can sign in with an email and password, or with Google or Apple. If you use Google or Apple, their terms apply to that sign-in as well as ours.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happened because of something we did wrong.
- You can export your diary and delete your account at any time from the You screen.
Free, and Squish Plus
What is free. Logging meals yourself, food search, barcodes, saved foods, your diary and charts, streaks, achievements, the earned colourways, and exporting your data are free, and we intend to keep them that way.
The free taste. With an account, you get a small one-off number of AI meal analyses and nutritionist questions to try, as shown in the app. It is once per person, not once per account.
Squish Plus is a subscription that adds more AI: meal analysis, questions to the nutritionist, recipe imports and weekly meal plans, each up to a monthly allowance shown in the app. The allowances keep Squish affordable to run; they are not a punishment. We may adjust them, and will tell you in the app before a reduction takes effect. If a change makes Plus materially worse for you, you can cancel and ask the store for a refund of the part you have not used.
Buying Plus. Plus is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play, at the price shown there before you buy. Your purchase is with Apple or Google, and their terms cover payment, taxes, refunds and billing. Nothing is charged through the Squish website or web app; if that ever changes, these terms will say how it works before it does.
Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period — a month or a year — at the then current price, until you cancel. The store charges you within 24 hours before a period ends. We will tell you before any price rise applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
Free trials and offers. If a trial or introductory price is offered, the store shows what it will cost afterwards and when, before you start it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or offer ends, it becomes a paid subscription at the normal price.
Cancelling. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at any time. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app, or your Squish account, does not cancel a subscription — the store does not know you have done it — so cancel there first.
Refunds and your right to cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. In the UK and EU you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content; by starting to use Plus straight away you ask for it to be supplied at once, which means that right ends when it starts, except where the law says otherwise. This does not affect your right to a remedy if Plus is faulty or not as described.
Codes, invites and rewards
- Invite codes give Squish Plus for a set time, as the code says. Partner codes and links tell us who recommended Squish to you. Friend invites can earn you and a friend time on Plus, on the conditions shown in the app — at the time of writing, your friend making an account, confirming their address and using Squish on a few different days.
- Codes and rewards have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or sold, and may have an end date or a limited number of uses.
- One reward per real person. Making extra accounts, inviting yourself, or getting codes by any other trick means we may withdraw the code, the reward and any Plus time it gave.
- We may end an offer or a code, but not in a way that takes away Plus time you have already been given fairly.
Colourways, accessories and scenes
Colourways, outfits for Squish and backgrounds are cosmetic. Some are earned, some come with Plus, and some may be bought. You get the right to use them in the app; they have no cash value outside it and cannot be transferred. Ones that come with Plus are available while you have Plus.
Squads
Squads let small groups cheer each other on. Only what the app says it shares is shared, and cheers come from a fixed list. Still:
- Choose a name for your squad that you would be happy for anybody to see.
- Do not use squads to harass, pressure or shame anyone about food, weight or their body.
- You can leave a squad or block somebody at any time. We may remove anybody from a squad, or end a squad, if it is being misused.
Using Squish fairly
Please do not:
- break the law with Squish, or use it to harm anybody;
- upload photos of other people, or anything that is not yours to share — photos are for your food;
- try to get around the allowances, the age check or the safety limits, or to make the nutritionist say something harmful;
- copy, scrape or resell Squish or what it produces, or use it to build a competing service;
- automate it, overload it, probe it for weaknesses, or try to get into anybody else's account or data. If you find a security problem, please tell us at privacy@squish.online instead.
If you do, we may limit, suspend or close your account. Unless it is serious or the law stops us, we will tell you why and give you the chance to put it right first.
Your content, and ours
Your diary is yours. Your meals, photos, notes and anything you type stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run Squish for you — to back them up, analyse them when you ask, and show them back to you — as the privacy policy describes. We do not use them to train AI, and we do not sell them.
What Squish writes for you — estimates, answers, meal plans — you may use as you like for yourself.
Squish is ours. The app, the website, the Squish character and artwork, and our text belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use them to use Squish, for yourself and not commercially. Food data from Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central and the UK's CoFID is used under their own licences.
When Squish changes, or stops
We are always working on Squish, and features may change, be added or be taken away. We will tell you in the app before a change that takes away something you pay for. Squish may sometimes be unavailable — for updates, or because something has gone wrong — and some things need a connection and our AI providers to be working.
If we ever close Squish, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, time to export your diary, and a refund through the store for any Plus you have paid for and not had.
Ending
- You can stop at any time: delete your account from the You screen, and cancel any subscription in the store.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, as above.
- When an account is deleted, what happens to its data is in the privacy policy. The parts of these terms that are meant to continue — like the next section — continue.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Squish with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to, and you lose something as a result that was foreseeable when you started using Squish, we are responsible for it — but not for losses we could not have foreseen, and not for business losses: Squish is for personal use.
Because Squish's figures are estimates and it is not medical advice, we are not responsible for what you choose to eat, or for decisions about your health, made on the strength of an estimate, a target, an answer or a meal plan — except where we have been negligent or the law says otherwise.
We are not responsible for services we do not control: the app stores, Google and Apple sign-in, food databases, or a web page you import a recipe from.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit — including your statutory rights as a consumer. For information about those rights, see Citizens Advice.
Beyond that, and where the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Squish in the 12 months before the problem, or £100.
If something goes wrong
Tell us first, at support@squish.online. We will try to put it right, and will reply within 14 days.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring them there; if you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU, the consumer protections of where you live still apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — when Squish changes, or when the law does. If a change matters to you, the app will say so before it applies, and the date at the top is when they last changed. If you do not want to accept a change, you can stop using Squish and cancel any subscription before it takes effect.
If any part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something straight away, we can still do so later.
